According to the agency, the project to create a shipyard* in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea is being developed jointly with the Turkish companies YDA and ASFAT.
"The project's implementation involves investment from Turkish partners," the Ministry of Industry and Trade clarified.
Currently, the Kazakh side is working to determine the location of the shipyard, taking into account its connection to existing transport hubs and logistics.
The partnership is necessary to meet the country's needs for the production and repair of small and large vessels. The cooperation will also focus on modernizing existing production facilities and creating modern maritime infrastructure in the Caspian Sea, the department noted.
The start date for the shipyard's construction will be determined based on the results of negotiations and the conclusion of relevant agreements.
LS previously reported on plans to build this production facility on the Caspian coast. At the time, investors from two countries expressed interest in the project.
*A shipyard is a place where ships are built and repaired.
