Former US President and now a candidate for this position again, Donald Trump, has stated that if he wins the election, he will try to help Ukraine, but at the same time he will demand the same efforts from Europe.

When asked whether he would continue military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Trump replied: โ€œI will try to help Ukraine, but Europe must also keep up and do its job,โ€ adding that European countries โ€œare not paying their fair share.โ€

The former US president also commented on the statements of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. After meeting with Trump in March, he said that he would not give a single penny to Ukraine if re-elected.

"No, I said I wouldn't give (not a penny. – Ed.) unless Europe starts matching (its share of aid. – Ed.)… Europe has to pay. We are being burdened with much more than European countries. It's very unfair to us," Trump believes.

He also said the European Union unfairly discriminates against the United States on trade, and that European NATO members have increased their defense spending after his threats to โ€œlet Russia take overโ€ them.
